Specific Expectations
C2.1 Use appropriate terminology related to energy, including but not limited to work and work-energy theorem
C2.2 Analyse, in qualitative and quantitative terms, the relationship between work and energy, using the work-energy theorem and solve related problems in one and two dimensions

Motivation: Students will watch a clip about 5 minuite about a hockey player's movement analysed in concepts of energy, work, and power. The resource provides with definition as well as equations for these three concepts that students can study the relationship among them as starting the lesson.
Before playing the video, the teacher should give instructions to the class such as finding information about definitions and equations from the resource which they will take up after watching it. Specific directions will help students to engage more in the content of the video. |
Activity 1: Define work & work-energy theorem
Students will learn how work-energy theorem is derived using calculus. They are not expected to generate this information but they should be able to understand how it makes sense to derive the theorem. There is an additional resource to help them to approach.

Activity 2: Do worksheet to review work and energy
Students can now practice and apply their understanding of work and energy to do worksheet. This worksheet will be handed in at the end of the lesson as an assessment for learning.

Consolidation: Exit card - 3-2-1
Assessment as learning, as students write what they learned, what they did not understand, and what they did not like from the lesson.
